Job Applicant Credit Checks – Soon Legislated Away?
In the news… more states considering banning employers from being able to check a job applicant’s credit history, viewing it as an unfair and possibly discriminatory practice, especially given current harsh economic times contributing to people falling more and more into debt. Currently Hawaii and Washington ban credit checks in most instances, with another 16 states considering similar bans. Read more here.
